Quantum 'Spin' Proves Highly Sensitive to Salty Environments
Scientists have demonstrated a new way to probe biological microenvironments using tiny quantum sensors called spin qubits. By placing these sensors inside model cell membranes, they found the sensor's quantum 'relaxation' rate was over 30 times more sensitive to salt concentration changes than established methods.
