CRISPR Screen Reveals Surprisingly Subtle Roles for Tiny Brain Protein Parts
Researchers used CRISPR technology to delete 45 specific microexons in zebrafish to understand their role in brain development. Unexpectedly, most deletions caused minimal observable changes in the larvae, though a few specific genetic targets showed distinct effects on neural activity.
