New Toolkit Democratizes CRISPR Gene Editing for Global Food Security
While CRISPR/Cas9 has revolutionized crop development, its application is significantly limited in the Global South, particularly for locally important crops. To bridge this gap, researchers developed the ENABLE® Gene Editing in planta toolkit, a simple, low-cost molecular toolbox. This kit empowers users new to CRISPR in lower-income countries to create gene-edited plants, fostering advancements in food security.
