Have you ever wondered how your body knows exactly how to fight off a cold? It all comes down to tiny defenders in your blood called T cells. These microscopic guards patrol your body, looking for trouble. To do their job well, these T cells wear a special suit of armour made of molecules called surface proteins. These proteins act like sensors, grabbers, and shields. They tell the cell what to do and how to act when danger is near. But for a long time, scientists did not know exactly how the cell builds and controls this complex armour. Now, researchers have found a way to map this process. By studying the instructions inside the cell, they are learning how our immune system prepares for battle.
